Toray is a Japanese material science company. Dermizax EV is their top-tier 3-layer waterproof/breathable membrane — 30,000mm hydrostatic head, 40,000g/m²/24hr MVTR. It's the same fabric system used in Japanese alpine gear since 2008. We chose it over Gore-Tex because it offers better breathability at a lower price point, and Toray publishes their actual test data.

Machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Hang dry. No fabric softener — it clogs the membrane pores. Re-apply DWR treatment after every 15-20 washes. We recommend Nikwax TX.Direct spray-on.

Traditional shells use seam tape — adhesive strips ironed over stitched seams. Seam tape degrades over time (peeling, lifting, letting water in). Bonded seams fuse the fabric panels at the molecular level. No tape to delaminate. Our Portland factory uses the same bonding process used in military-grade protective equipment.

Everything. If your VEIL product fails due to a materials or construction defect at any point during its life, we replace it. No questions asked. No receipt needed — we can look up your order by email. Doesn't cover normal wear and tear, pet damage, or campfire burns (yes, we've gotten that one).
